Post Creation Redesign

Overview

The goal of this redesign was to help users feel empowered & confident to post through a guided and focused experience.

Challenges
- Understanding the use cases for why users post on LinkedIn
- Helping users feel confident and informed while keeping the creation flow lightweight
- Designing for partner team needs and feature integrations

Solution (shown below)
- Launched a more prominent and discoverable entry point
- Designed a scalable framework for partner teams to implement new types of posts
- Launched Hashtag recommendation component

 

 
 

Discoverable entry point

I redesigned the entry-point component located on the LinkedIn feed. The new design was more actionable and prominent leading to a significant increase in CTR and better user discoverability of where to post.

Scalable framework for new features

During the redesign it was important to consider new posting features from partner teams. I designed a framework that allowed the post box to scale.

Hashtag suggestions

During the redesign, I also launched a new suggested hashtag component.

2 step creation

I designed a 2 step creation flow for posting to give users more security and confidence when publishing.
